ARNA Inc is organised into State and Territory Chapters and Specialty Nursing Chapters.
ARNA membership comprises:
Voting members – nurses working in a broad range of general and specialised rehabilitation areas.
Non-voting members – corporate members and other health professionals associated with rehabilitation
Office bearers of Chapters and the National Committee are ARNA members who work on a voluntary basis to advance ARNA’s mission, with the organisation’s administrative functions supported by PAMS whose office is located in Melbourne.
ARNA publishes a quarterly journal:
Official Journal of the Australasian Rehabilitation Nurses’ Association – JARNA – [ISSN1440-3994].
This journal includes both peer-reviewed and non-refereed papers relating to research, clinical issues, education and practice development, along with Chapter reports, and professional development information.
ARNA supports members’ participation in education and research activities in the form of grants and scholarships.
Education and professional development activities are organised at both Chapter and National Committee levels.
ARNA organises an annual national conference that features national and international presentations related to Rehabilitation Nursing.
ARNA’s Mission Statement:
ARNA sponsors advancement of the practice of Rehabilitation Nursing to promote optimal wellbeing for people who require rehabilitative nursing care.
ARNA achieves this by leading the development of the profession through advocacy, education and research.
ARNA strives to drive systemic change that values and strengthens Rehabilitation Nursing as an integral part of the continuing development of rehabilitation services in Australasia.
The ARNA has approximately 440 members in all states and territories of Australia and New Zealand.
